How to read this. Benchmarks are ranges, not verdicts — and a few (no-show and attrition rates especially) are industry estimates rather than primary data, so treat the bands as guidance. Scoring & sources

Each metric scores 0 (needs work), 1 (typical), or 2 (strong); the overall percentage is your total ÷ the maximum. Thresholds:

  • New-patient growth — strong ≥ 15%/yr, typical 8–15% (ADA target 10–15%).
  • Net income margin — strong ≥ 28%, typical 18–28% (ADA HPI avg ≈ 22%).
  • Case acceptance — strong ≥ 70%, typical 45–70% (avg ≈ 45%, ADA target 75–80%).
  • No-show rate — strong ≤ 5%, typical 5–12% (ADA target ≤ 5%).
  • Attrition — strong ≤ 8%, typical 8–15% (top practices 7–8%, avg 12–15%).
  • Hygiene reappointment — strong ≥ 85%, typical 60–85% (ADA target 90%).
